AWD begins summer of charity events

Central Florida CPA firm Averett Warmus Durkee kicked off its annual slate of summer philanthropic projects with a pair of charitable activities.

In June, sixteen of the firm’s staff volunteered in a breakfast food drive at the Men’s Pavilion of the Coalition for the Homeless and distributed toiletries to those taking advantage of the nonprofit and long-time AWD client Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida’s services.

Also in June, AWD hosted a retreat for Opportunity, Community, Ability, which provides age-appropriate activities for school-aged children and young adults with autism and other related disabilities.

“We are, ourselves, richly rewarded when we take advantage of these various opportunities to participate,” said AWD partner Tom Durkee in a statement. “Our firm and the entire AWD team feel we are blessed with so many advantages. We welcome ways in which to share some of what we have been given.”
