Ernst & Young associate auditions for Glee

Ernst & Young CPA Nick DeSanto went from audit to audition when he uploaded a performance video trying out for a guest role on the TV musical Glee.

The E&Y senior associate joined 4,000-plus people jockeying for a spot on Oxygen channel’s The Glee Project competition determining a new guest character on the Fox show.

DeSanto, who has been singing his whole life, found out about the contest through friends who recommended he submit a video.

“Putting my audition video online and sharing it with my friends was intimidating at first, because most of my friends had never heard me sing,” DeSanto said. “The most rewarding aspect of this experience has been the overwhelmingly positive and encouraging responses I have received from my friends, family, and colleagues."

Fans can support their favorite performers by “liking” their audition videos on The Glee Project website, which may factor into the judges’ decisions.

“Some colleagues who have seen the audition video have reached out and said that they never would have guessed that there was a whole other side to me, apart from the buttoned up CPA they see at work every day," DeSanto said.
