Additionally, EY professionals sit on ten of NFTE’s 11 Advisory Boards in the US.

“Our work with NFTE benefits youth by connecting their classroom learning with real-world experiences,” said Deborah Holmes, EY Americas director of corporate responsibility, in a statement. “Our people’s volunteerism helps youth to become entrepreneurs, or boost their entrepreneurial mindset, which will give them an advantage no matter what they do. At the same time, we’re building our people’s leaderships skills. Both contribute to our purpose of building a better working world.”

“We greatly value our work with EY on behalf of under-resourced youth and are thrilled to be able to recognize their many contributions," stated Shawn Osborne, president and CEO of NFTE. "Our success depends on the strength and commitment of our supporters and EY has been a significant sponsor of our efforts for many years.”

With the help of initiatives such as EY’s, more than 99% of NFTE alumni over 25 have attained a high school diploma (compared to 85% for the general US population) and 88% of NFTE high school graduates are employed (69% for the US population). NFTE alumni are also reported to be twice as likely as the general population to be self-employed entrepreneurs.
