The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) will honor the Michigan recipients of the AICPA 2015 Women to Watch Award at its annual Awards Dinner on Sept. 30, the Association announced on Monday.

The MICPA Women’s Initiatives Task Force selected three MICPA members to receive the AICPA’s Women to Watch Experienced Leader Award and one to receive the Emerging Leader Award. The Experienced Leader Award recognizes those who have advanced to a higher level or leadership position within their organization, mentored other professionals, taken steps to improve their workplace, given back through public or community service and overall contribution to the profession.

The Emerging Leader designation recognizes women who participate in public or community service, demonstrate leadership, create and implement unique initiatives, are involved with their alma mater or other local universities and are on their way to making a difference in the profession.

“These professionals contribute to the CPA profession and their communities in significant and unique ways,” stated Peggy Dzierzawski, president and CEO of MICPA. “They are wonderfully positive role models for colleagues and community members, and we are honored to recognize them for their contributions.”
