N.J. Society of CPAs volunteer across the state with annual 'Month of Service'

Organized by the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA), the second annual NJ CPA Month of Service recently took place during May 2015. The volunteer service represented the CPA profession's ongoing commitment to serving the communities where its professionals live and work.

Whether it was a whole day or just a few hours, dozens of CPAs, companies and NJCPA staff—from all across the Garden State—planted flowers in inner city communities; cooked nutritious meals for families whose children are receiving medical treatment; constructed wildlife refuges; and more to benefit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, Conserve Wildlife Foundation of NJ and others.

“Our efforts focused on beautifying the grounds and planting a vegetable garden at UrbanPromise in Camden, as well as cleaning up a historical cemetery just in time for its dedication on Memorial Day,” stated Adrienne Onorato, director of marketing at Alloy, Silverstein, Shapiro, Adams, Mulford, Cicalese, Wilson & Co. “It's refreshing after busy season to enjoy a wonderful day of both team building and helping make a positive impact on the community.”
