Kids count in ParenteBeard's new holiday book

December 29, 2011

In light of the fact that only 40 percent of fourth graders and 35 percent of eighth graders are proficient in math, ParenteBeard created an educational children’s book, “Making the Holidays Count,” in an attempt to show students math can be fun.

The book explores the importance of numbers in holiday activities like baking and decorating.

In late December, the firm held reading events of the book at local chapters of the Boys & Girls Club of America in its six regions.

ParenteBeard Philadelphia managing partner Paul Kinmartin reads to the children at the Boys & Girls Club while chief operating officer Jeff Ferro shows them the pictures.
