Sean Manning, Payroll Vault CEO, honored by Colorado CPA Society

Payroll Vault announced on Friday that their CEO and founder, Sean Manning, was recognized by the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (COCPA) as a recipient of the organization’s 2014 "Everyday Heroes and Heroines Award" at an event held November 6.

The COCPA Everyday Heroes and Heroines Awards honor CPAs who make a difference within their local community through personal and professional contributions. Award recipients are selected from a pool of nominees, chosen by a panel of COCPA representatives, with criteria such as service in non-profit and community organizations, local leadership, and the impact of a nominee’s community activities taken into consideration.

“We are excited that Sean was recognized for his heartfelt service to our community and the accounting profession,” said Marilyn Manning, Payroll Vault’s executive director of marketing, communications & public relations, in a statement. “Sean’s decades of contributions to our local and regional communities is inspiring and his willingness to use his time and talents to create lasting, positive changes for charitable and education organizations as well as for families and his peers make him very deserving of this honor.”

Manning was selected based on 25 years of local, charitable efforts with his wife Marilyn. Manning has also made numerous contributions within the local business community and was recognized for his work mentoring, speaking, and sharing of business expertise.

Manning’s nomination focused on his advocacy for quality, accessible education in Littleton and Highlands Ranch, Colorado; his long-standing service to the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants; and his support of the charities of Cellar Angels, including those that help animals, ocean preservation, veterans, medical-disease research, children, and global issues. Manning’s leadership in establishing the Gopher Golf Tournament, a charity golf tournament that benefits Denver charities including the Parkinson Association of the Rockies and the Cheley/Children’s Hospital Burn Camp, was also highlighted.
