The Washington Society of CPAs announced that the Washington CPA Foundation awarded $52,000 in scholarships to 17 accounting students at 10 schools in the state.

The foundation, funded by contributions of WSCPA members and outside donors, honored 16 students with $3,000 scholarships and one with $4,000.

Qualified students are at least a junior at an accredited four-year university in the state of Washington with a minimum 3.0 GPA and declared accounting majors who plan to become CPAs in Washington state. Judges evaluate candidates on community involvement, on and off-campus activities, letters of recommendation and essays.

The 2013-14 recipients, and more information on applying for the Washington CPA Foundation scholarship, can be found here.
