Leaders from some of the best accounting firms in the country were invited to attend the awards ceremony and luncheon honoring their achievements. A ballroom at the spectacular Wynn hotel and casino in Las Vegas served as the setting for the Accounting Today Growth & Profitability Summit, the site of the awards ceremony.
Janine Zirrith, the firm administrator at Wilkin & Guttenplan in East Brunswick, N.J., accepted an award on behalf of the firm, which captured the first-place prize for firms in the Midsized Firm category from Accounting Today editor-in-chief Bill Carlino and Best Companies Group president Peter Burke.
Jeff Rudolph, the partner-in-charge of technology at Sikich LLP, in Aurora, Ill., accepted the second place award in the Large Firm category.
Managing partner Gary Johnson of Johnson Jacobson Wilcox, in Las Vegas, won the first place award in the Small Firm category.
Keith Barfield of Barfield, Murphy, Shank & Smith, PC, in Birmingham, Ala., accepted the third-place award in the Midsized Firm category.
Not every firm that won an award was able to send a representative to accept it, so Peter Burke of Best Companies Group accepted awards on behalf of a number of firms.
