Joe the Plumber has made his next mission the abolition of the Internal Revenue Service.

The unlicensed plumber, whose real name is Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, became a topic of debate during last fall’s presidential campaign, by railing about taxes on the plumbing business he hoped to buy from his employer.

Now he has set up a Web site, IRSvote.com, which promotes the Fair Tax as a way to simplify the Tax Code. Visitors to the site can vote on whether to abolish the IRS and go to a simple Fair Tax system, similar to the kind promoted by several Republican presidential candidates last year, or keep the IRS. Visitors can vote via the Internet, or by sending a text message or making a phone call to a 900 phone number. However, the site warns that they will be charged 99 cents a vote.

“Are you sick and tired of being forced to file a tax return every year, wasting your precious hours preparing tricky IRS documents and constantly worrying about a tax audit?” asked Wurzelbacher in a YouTube video on the site. “I’m Joe the Plumber and I’m not a politician. I’m here to ask my fellow Americans to join me to make this the last year we ever have to file a tax return. I’m going to give the American people the opportunity to vote the IRS out. As American citizens, we have that right.”

The video also features an unwitting special guest appearance by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
