Intuit has introduced an online resource for small business owners, “The Guide to Hiring and Paying Employees.”

The guide, available at http://payroll.intuit.com, includes step-by-step advice to help business owners understand the costs of hiring employees and how to correctly classify them.

Also on the site is advice on speeding up the hiring process, including how to write an effective job posting and interview job candidates. The guide includes information on how to comply with government requirements, such as classifying workers and calculating paychecks correctly, verifying employees’ eligibility, and completing payroll forms.

The Web page provides a link to a Hiring Forum where prospective employers can share their experiences and get their questions answered.
