Bonadio Group Picks Up Utica Firm

Top 100 Firm The Bonadio Group has agreed to add Richard Zweifel and his team to its central N.Y. roster.

Zweifel established the firm 18 years ago. It provides accounting, auditing, tax, and client advisory services to businesses, individuals, local governments, estates and trusts, and nonprofit organizations in the central New York area.

The new addition comes with eight staff members and one partner, Zweifel. Bonadio will now have more than 60 employees throughout Syracuse, Geneva, Perry and Utica.

Bonadio plans to open its first office location in the Utica area at Zweifel’s existing location at 7936 Seneca Turnpike in Clinton, following completion of the merger this month. Zweifel will serve as managing partner of Bonadio's office in Utica.

“Our growth plans across New York State continue in high gear fueled by mergers like this one with Zweifel’s Utica practice. We continue to build our presence in central New York and beyond,” Bonadio CEO and managing partner Tom Bonadio said in a statement. “Like the thruway, we hope our reach expands from Buffalo to Albany and beyond, connecting clients with trusted and reliable financial services at each stop along the way.”

Bonadio entered the central New York market in 2007, and in 2011 it acquired the Syracuse branch office of ParenteBeard, adding 21 employees and four partners to the firm.

The firm currently has more than 350 employees statewide, and annual revenues of more than $50 million.
