Brooke Shields Rep Blames IRS for Tax Snafu

Los Angeles (January 20, 2010)

A spokesperson for Brooke Shields has denied that the actress and her husband owe the Internal Revenue Service over $10,000 after the agency filed tax liens against the couple.

The IRS filed liens on Dec. 31, 2009, against the “Lipstick Jungle” star and her husband, television writer Chris Henchy, for $4,391.70 in unpaid taxes from 2004 and $5,932.50 in unpaid taxes from 2005, according to TMZ.com.

However, a representative for Shields told another Web site, GossipCop.com, that the IRS made a mistake. “Brooke doesn’t owe anything. All taxes were filed and paid timely,” said the rep, adding, “The IRS credited her payments to the wrong account.”
