Grassi Expands in New York and New Jersey

New York (February 9, 2010)

Accounting firm Grassi & Co. is expanding its presence in New York and New Jersey, with the partners and staff of Soloway, Goldstein, Silverstein & Co. joining the firm in Manhattan.

The three partners from Soloway — Steven Goldstein, Alan Silverstein and Carmine Minieri —have joined Grassi, along with seven additional staff members. According to Grassi spokesman Lee Peretz, the firms aren’t legally merging, but Soloway will be dissolved. Grassi is also adding an extra 10 to 15 people in Manhattan, while retaining the former Soloway offices. The firm also recently added staff members in Long Island at its Jericho headquarters.

In New Jersey, Nick Magone, a former partner at Couto, DeFranco & Magone, is joining Grassi along with four additional staff members who will be part of an expansion in Grassi’s Florham Park, N.J., offices. Couto DeFranco continues to operate as a separate firm in West Orange, N.J.
