Exact Enhances Macola ERP Software

Exact introduced an updated version Wednesday of its enterprise resource planning and business software, Macola 10.4, with enhanced workspaces, business intelligence functionality and a financial consolidation tool for manufacturing and distribution businesses.

The company released the news at its annual customer conference Exact Macola Evolve in Atlanta. New features in Macola 10.4 include a new generation of personalized workspaces that streamline day-to-day business tasks. In addition to an enhanced user interface, users can now extend workspace features into transactions and configure menus that give them direct access to the functions they need most during the workday.

Coinciding with the release of 10.4, Macola will make available a new business intelligence tool that offers users insights into their businesses. Macola uses the Qlik analytics system as the engine behind this new tool, known as Exact Insights. Users can pose questions in the tool in an interactive fashion and drill down into analytics around different parts of the business, from sales to inventory levels to create ad-hoc reports.

As part of its expansion strategy into Latin America, Macola 10.4 will now support International Financial Reporting Standards.

Macola 10.4 also includes features that allow users to aggregate financial data from multiple business divisions into a 360-view of business financials. With this module, users can work across divisions and pull in financial data from outside the Macola software.

"Giving individual users access to every process, workflow, and piece of data they need to perform their jobs better is central to what Macola delivers," said Macola managing director Alison Forsythe in a statement. “Thanks to the addition of Exact Insights powered by Qlik and the newest generation of our dynamic workspaces, among other updates, there is no reason for users to look beyond Macola during their workday.”

Macola 10.4 is expected to be available in June. Also at the conference, Exact announced that it is currently moving to increase its head count by 30 percent in 2016.
