Brown, Edwards & Company LLP has bought Dixon Hughes Goodman’s practice in Roanoke, Va., effective Feb. 1, 2017.
As part of the deal, the DHG partners and employees based in Roanoke will join the Brown Edwards team. Nearly all of DHG’s clients will be transferred to Brown Edwards, except for some industry clients who will continue to be serviced by DHG.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“This acquisition positions us to provide a greater depth of expertise and resources to serve the needs of our clients and strengthen Brown Edwards' position as the largest independent certified public accounting firm in our geographic footprint,” said Brown Edwards managing partner Jason Hartman in a statement. “But more importantly, we are adding well respected partners and staff whom we have worked with over many years.”
Brown Edwards offers accounting services to clients in Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee. With the addition of DHG’s Roanoke practice, Brown Edwards will increase its Roanoke office to 12 partners and 75 associates.
“While DHG will no longer maintain an office in Roanoke, we look forward to continuing to serve several clients in the Roanoke area as part of DHG’s national and regional industry focus,” said DHG regional managing partner Gary Thomson in a statement.
