Citrin Cooperman Merges in LGC+D LLP

New York-based accounting firm Citrin Cooperman has expanded further in New England by combining with LGC+D LLP in Providence, R.I., effective September 1.

As part of the deal, LGC+D’s 60 employees are joining Citrin. The Providence office will be Citrin’s third new office in New England this year and its 11th office overall. Last month, Citrin added two offices in the Boston area by merging in Kirkland Albrecht & Fredrickson, which has locations in Braintree and Woburn, Mass. (see Citrin Cooperman Merges in Kirkland Albrecht & Fredrickson).

Citrin Cooperman ranked 22nd on Accounting Today’s 2016 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $195 million in annual revenue. The combination with KAF was expected to increase Citrin’s annual revenues to $200 million. Financial terms of the deal with LGC+D were not disclosed.

“We are thrilled that LGC+D is joining Citrin Cooperman,” said Citrin Cooperman CEO Joel Cooperman in a statement. “The addition of their dynamic, experienced team aligns well with our goal of continuing to focus our expansion with geographic markets stretching from Metro D.C. to Boston, and the increased skills that enhance value to our clients.”

Accountants Advisory Group CEO Joseph Tarasco helped arrange the deal between the two firms.

LGC+D has been offering audit, tax, and accounting services for more than half a century, specializing in the commercial and industrial products, construction, not-for-profit, government, healthcare, and real estate industries. The firm has a “Women Count” initiative for advancing women in the workplace.

“Our clients and our people are our top priority,” said LGC+D managing partner Richard DeRienzo in a statement. “By joining Citrin Cooperman, our clients gain access to additional resources, services, and depth of experience over an expanded footprint.”
