COLORADO

Independent accounting firm consortium CPAsNET has formed an alliance with auditrust international to provide U.S. members with global resources and specialists. The two groups will continue to operate as independent organizations; together, they represent more than 120 firms in 93 countries. … The Daniels College of Business School of Accountancy of the University of Denver announced that two of its students have been named to the Financial Accounting Standards Board’s postgraduate technical assistant program. Rachel Meek was named to the summer 2016 class, and Mallory Bennett to the winter 2017 class. Last year, two other students -- Alexis Tanoue and Andrew McClaskey – were named to the summer 2015 and winter 2016 classes.

GEORGIA

Moore Colson has been named one of Atlanta’s 2016 Top Workplaces by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, for the sixth year in a row.

ILLINOIS

Top 100 Firm Crowe Horwath LLP has released its Crowe Financial Accelerator for Microsoft Dynamics AX, to allow users to manage centralized and decentralized operational and financial functions within their ERP system.

 

KENTUCKY

Dean Dorton Allen Ford, Louisville, has released its Thoroughbred Business Year in Review 2015, which includes information on thoroughbred public auction markets; breeders' costs and profits; stud fees; changes in production costs and yearling selling prices; and racing purses and the number of horses racing. MASSACHUSETTS

Nonprofit software provider AccuFund Inc., Needham, announced the recipients of its Partner Leadership Awards for sales and marketing success in the previous year: ComputerWorks NFP, of California, was the volume sales leader overall; Brisbane Consulting Group, of New York, was the volume leader in nonprofit sector sales; NFP Solutions, of Ohio, was volume leader in government sales and volume leader in representative payee sales; EMK Inc., was volume leader in add-on sales; Binnacle Technology Solutions, of Connecticut, was volume leader in total unit sales; TLC Help, of Texas, was partner leader in installation and support excellence; and Schroeder Consulting Services, of Alaska, was Rookie of the Year.

 

MISSOURI

BKD LLP, Springfield, has been named a Bronze LearningElite organization for 2016 by Chief Learning Officer magazine. The firm also received this award in 2014.

NEVADA

Egghart LLC | CPAs, Reno, has undergone a total rebrand and recently unveiled its new name – BlueBird CPAs -- logo, tagline and Web site to better showcase itself as a full-service accounting and auditing firm serving Indian Country. The new logo, the bluebird, represents the state bird of Nevada, and is meant to reflect the morale of the firm.

NEW YORK

The New York State Society of CPAs is accepting applications for its annual Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession program; read the full story here. … The Family Office Services Division of PKF O’Connor Davies received the Best Accountancy Advice Award at the third annual Family Wealth Report Awards in March. The award recognizes accountants who provide key consulting services to family offices and have created significant innovations advising clients.

TEXAS

Tax services firm Ryan, Dallas, received the 2015 International Client Service Excellence Award in the “Best of the Best” category for companies from the Customer Service Institute of America. In addition, the firm’s chairman and CEO, G. Brint Ryan, received the 2015 Individual International Client Service Excellence Award for Customer Service CEO of the Year, for the second time. Separately, the firm was ranked No. 1 on the Fortune 50 Best Workplaces for Flexibility list.
