Practitioner-built CAS ecosystem for advisory clients Infinite Ties announced new training tracks, journey-based resources, and individual membership create clearer paths to build, strengthen, and scale CAS. Specifically, the company has launched three distinct CAS development tracks, new pathways tailored to different stages of the CAS journey, and a $49 individual membership option. The training tracks, designed to develop and upskill CAS professionals and teams, include Advisory-Ready Financials (Build the Technical Foundation), which provides accounting fundamentals taught through a CAS lens; CAS Engagement Leadership (Lead the Team and the Book of Engagements), which addresses delegation, capacity, scope, profitability, client leadership, and the business decisions required to manage a successful book of CAS engagements; and the Advisory Mindset (Develop the Human Side of Advisory), described as a power-skills experience focused on communication, trust, influence, conflict, strategic questioning, and the relational skills that help technical professionals become trusted advisors. Together, the self-paced tracks are meant to create a flexible development path from technical capability, to engagement leadership, to true advisory impact. The four new user journeys, meanwhile, are meant to help practitioners locate the exact support they need. Established Practices Seeking Scale provides guidance and diagnostic tools to fix bottlenecks in profitability, capacity, and consistency; Tax Firms & Sole Practitioners Transitioning to CAS gives step-by-step support to build a recurring advisory line from the ground up; Bookkeepers Adding Advisory Services has frameworks to expand transactional services into strategic advisory engagements; and CAS Team Members & Emerging Leaders offers Hands-on training to increase client and firm impact. The expanded online experience also gives greater visibility to the FanCAS-Kit, Infinite Ties' six-phase implementation framework created from decades of real-world CAS experience, which draws on practical resources for firms looking to build, standardize, or strengthen areas including service offerings, pricing, staffing, technology, process, and practice growth. Infinite Ties also announced that, beginning September 16, individual professionals can join Infinite Ties for $49 per month. Infinite Ties will continue to offer its $99 monthly team membership for up to five users, allowing firms to bring CAS education and resources to multiple team members under one membership. The company also said that, on Oct. 1, they will release its new Growth and Profitability Engine, which diagnoses the client, defines the work, calculates pricing based on the firm's own costs and expected effort, and creates the documents needed to support the engagement.

Workflow automation solutions provider FloQast has launched a host of new AI-driven features, including governed agents and AI journal review and anomaly detection. The company announced the new releases during its TakeControl user conference. FloQast Transform can now reverse engineer the end-to-end workflows a team runs each month and turn them into AI agents, so people can hand FloQast files from a close a team has already finished and automatically builds an AI agent that runs that process for them with IT or coding required. These new agents, plus the ones already available, will soon run under COSO's GenAI governance framework so teams can wrap their AI agents in COSO-compliant governance — risk assessment, control environment and activities, and  ongoing monitoring and assurance — directly inside the platform. Audit evidence will write itself  with connectivity between Transform and FloQast Connected Compliance.  Meanwhile, FloQast also announced an AI Assistant that reviews journal entries before accountants approve them, as well as answers questions, prepares and reviews work, and meets teams inside the workflows they use every day. Its first application is journal entry review, built into FloQast Journal Entry Management. When a preparer submits an entry, the  reviewer can ask for an AI review before approving it. The Assistant flags errors and anomalies,  scores audit risk, explains its reasoning, and recommends a fix.The human makes every call. The company also released FloQast Detect, an AI powered transaction monitoring tool that learns normal patterns on a per-subsidiary, per account basis, and flags anomalies before the books close. Each flagged transaction is  assessed for GL impact, routed for review, and signed off with a full audit trail. User-defined  rules layer on top, codifying the team's own review criteria and applying them to every  transaction, every period. Finally, FloQast Operational Audit is an expansion of FloQast's internal audit capabilities to cover the entire audit plan, including SOX testing, other compliance audits, and now, operational audits. Built around the team's own methodology, AI drafts the audit plan, executes testing and generates an executive-ready report from live audit data.

Mercury, traditionally known as a banking technology provider, announced the launch of Mercury Books, a double-entry accounting software built directly into Mercury which uses AI to categorize and reconcile banking, card, invoicing, and bill pay activity the moment it happens. Mercury Books pulls in activity from Mercury banking, cards, invoicing, and bill pay and automatically categorizes and reconciles it all as customers build their business. Customers can also connect to thousands of external platforms like Stripe, Gusto, and PayPal, for their full financial picture. Everything is categorized and reconciled using full double-entry accounting, supporting both accrual and cash basis.  Mercury Books works with Command, Mercury's built-in AI agent, meaning customers can also ask questions about their finances or take actions like recategorizing transactions in bulk, writing journal entries, or updating their chart of accounts using natural language, with every action requiring confirmation before it's applied. Users can also invite their accountant into their books with unlimited advisor seats at no additional cost, or get matched with one of our accounting partners. Every categorized transaction traces back to the underlying activity, so bookkeepers and accountants can verify the numbers instead of reconstructing them.

Emburse CEO Marne Martin

Diligent touts orchestration agent in Diligent One with plain language chat interface

Diligent
Governance, risk and compliance solutions provider Diligent announced a new orchestration agent in Diligent One to give GRC professionals a natural-language interface to coordinate audit and risk work. Instead of simply answering questions, it enables users to describe what they need, and routes work to the right specialized agents to execute workflows. It also monitors risk data, cleans records, coordinates assessments, follows up on overdue actions, escalates issues and surfaces emerging risks. It also identifies relevant risks, maps them to audit objectives, links existing controls and supports evidence collection, testing and findings development to help plan and execute audits via conversational workflow. It also allows for insights and reports: using conversational prompts or templates, teams can quickly surface key findings and generate polished, secure, source-cited reports in minutes.

Audit and compliance solutions provider Andera launched Andera GRC, which, for a limited time, is free to any organization running control testing with Andera. Teams store their risk and control matrix, narratives, risks, issues and evidence in one place to link enterprise risk data with Andera's agents. Using this connected risk approach, an update anywhere updates the data everywhere everywhere, keeping records in sync rather than drifting between spreadsheets, tickets, and a system of record. Agents do work like pulling evidence from source systems, handling requests, testing controls, running retests, drafting issues the moment a control fails, suggesting compensating controls and keeping dashboards current. Also, teams can ask Andera anything about their control environment and get an answer grounded in testing that was actually performed. To enable more risk teams to experience what AI can do for their organization, Andera is launching the GRC at no cost.

Workiva also released 3 new agentic solutions to mark Workiva's expansion into a wider universe of reporting obligations and regulatory work. Starting with what has historically been highly manual regulatory disclosures, such as BEA (Bureau of Economic Analysis) surveys, US Census surveys, and Country-by-Country Reporting, accounting and finance teams will be able to manage a broader range of regulatory requirements within the same connected platform. Finally, Workiva launched a new agentic solution that accelerates audit testing while maintaining consistency, traceability, and governance.
