The LIHTC serves low-, very-low and extremely low-income renters-and the Novogradac Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Showcase explains how the LIHTC works and who lives in the affordable rental homes financed by the credit. The Center for Disability Services and UHY LLP will host a special appearance by New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul during the 56th annual Center for Disability Services Telethon at the Radisson Hotel on Wolf Road in Albany on Sunday, January 31. Pierre-Paul will sign autographs and take photos with fans from noon to 3 p.m. with proceeds benefitting the Center for Disability Services. Pierre-Paul's appearance is presented by UHY LLP, which will also donate $48,500 to the Center for Disability Services during the telethon.
TEXAS
The Texas Society of CPAs is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its founding in 1915 with 16 members in Ft. Worth. Today, it has 20 chapters with nearly 28,000 members across the state.
VIRGINIA
The National Society of Accountants Scholarship Foundation is accepting scholarship applications from undergraduates who are U.S. or Canadian citizens majoring in accounting at an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the United States. Applicants for awards are judged on the basis of scholastic achievement, demonstrated leadership ability, and financial need. They must have a "B" (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better grade point average.
