Brad Baer has been promoted to managing director in the Management & Technology Consulting Group of UHY Advisors, Atlanta.

ILLINOIS

Diane Gleich has joined Accounting Services Department of Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams Ltd., Chicago.  … Chris Geier has been elected to serve as the next managing partner and CEO of Sikich LLP, Naperville, beginning in 2017. (See the story.) … Tony Szczepaniak will join Moore Stephens North America as chief executive officer. Most recently, he served as partner and national leader of the Alliance Group at RSM US LLP.

 

LOUISIANA

Jason DeCuir, director of public affairs for Ryan, has been appointed to serve on the Task Force on Structural Change in Budget and Tax Policy by Louisiana Speaker of the House Taylor Barras.

MAINE

Seth Webber, a principal at BerryDunn, Portland, received he Outstanding Member Award from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.

NEW JERSEY

The New Jersey Society of CPAs, with a contribution from Bowman & Co. LLP, gave its Lisa A. Donahue Scholarship to Sarah Donahue. (See the story.)

Ron Dreskin has joined EisnerAmper LLP as principal-in-charge of its health care services practice. … Thomas Bruckel has been named tax practice leader of The Bonadio Group, following the retirement of Jeffrey Corey, who will continue to support the firm and its clients as a Senior Council member. Bruckel has also been appointed as team leader for The Bonadio Group’s tax team in Rochester. … Robert Hasselbeck has joined the nonprofit technology division of Brisbane Consulting Group LLC, Buffalo, as an implementation specialist.

Bober Markey Fedorovich, Akron, announced a number of new hires: Michelle L. McCue has joined the firm as a manager in assurance and advisory services; Erin Mazzucco-Eaken, as a senior corporate accountant; Joseph Blaha, as an audit supervisor; Kurtis Thomson, Rachel Mancini and David Presley as staff accountants in the Tax Department; Travis Werner and Curtis Thorn as staff accountants in the Assurance and Advisory Departments; and Cheryl Myers as an administrative assistant. … Dale Bradford has joined the Real Estate and Construction Group of Skoda Minotti, Cleveland. … Becca Davis, director of practice growth at Rea & Associates, has been named to the Association for Accounting Marketing’s Board of Directors. 

OKLAHOMA

Greg Jones, a partner at Eide Bailly LLP, has been named the partner-in-charge of the firm’s offices in Oklahoma City and Norman. He succeeds partner Steve Corley, who continues to serve clients from the Norman office.

SOUTH DAKOTA

Derrick Larson, a partner at Eide Bailly LLP, has been named the partner-in-charge of the firm’s Sioux Falls office. He succeeds partner Kevin Doyle, who will continue to serve clients in Sioux Falls and beyond.

 

TEXAS

Bill Penczak has joined Briggs & Veselka Co., Houston, as managing director of practice development. … Bob Broxson has been appointed a managing director in the dispute advisory Services practice in the Houston office of BDO Consulting, and a member of the natural resources practice.

 

UNITED KINGDOM

Maria Helena Santana and Lynn Wood have been re-appointed trustees of the IFRS Foundation. Santana is a former chair and president of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission, and Wood is a former chairman of the Australian Financial Reporting Council and member of the Foreign Investment Review Board.

 

VIRGINIA

Pamela White has been promoted to controller at Cherry Bekaert LLP. She works in the Richmond office.

WASHINGTON, D.C.

Tom Raffa, CEO of Raffa PC, Washington, D.C., has been named Georgetown University’s Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year, as well as an “Individual Making a Difference” by the Nonprofit Village, and his firm is partnering with Rich Tafel to launch a service for both social entrepreneurs and investors looking to support those entrepreneurs, called Raffa Social Capital Advisors
