Sikich Acquires Stanfield

Sikich LLP is acquiring Stanfield & Associates, a Chicago-area firm that specializes in doing outsourced accounting for family offices that provide wealth management for high net worth individuals and families.

The acquisition is Sikich’s third this year. This month, Sikich also acquired SCS, a technology firm based in Glendale, Calif. (see Sikich Buys Tech Firm in SoCal). In April, Sikich acquired Brockman, Coats, Gedelian & Co., an Akron, Ohio-based firm that provides audit and assurance, tax, technology, and wealth management services (see Sikich Acquires BCG & Co.).

Sikich ranked 31st on Accounting Today’s 2016 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $115.7 million in annual revenue.

“The acquisition of Stanfield & Associates will add valuable expertise to Sikich’s accounting services team and expand the capabilities of our growing family office practice,” said Sikich CEO Jim Sikich in a statement. “Stanfield has demonstrated impressive success and will be a welcome addition to our team as we continue to bolster our accounting offerings for clients.”

John Stanfield founded his Downers Grove, Ill.-based firm in 2011. Once the acquisition closes on November 1, it will become part of Sikich’s Naperville-based accounting services practice.

“Joining Sikich will allow us to tap into the full team’s impressive technical knowledge and the firm’s many practice areas to offer our clients access to new insights and services,” Stanfield said in a statement. “We are excited to join a growing professional services firm and contribute to the strength of Sikich’s robust accounting practice.”
