Withum Merges in McGuigan Tombs

WithumSmith+Brown has expanded its presence in New Jersey, adding McGuigan Tombs & Company, a $3 million-plus CPA firm.

All the staff members in McGuignan Tombs’ office in Manasquan, N.J., are moving to Withum’s office in Red Bank as part of the deal, which took effect Monday, August 1.

McGuigan Tombs dates back 25 years and specializes in offering tax, accounting, audit and consulting services to closely held businesses and entrepreneurs in New Jersey and New York, particularly construction businesses.

“Since our inception in 1991, our primary focus has been to provide the best possible technical and personal service to our clients, always at a fair cost,” said managing partner Pete McGuigan in a statement. “This union simply enhances our ability to pursue this objective by offering our clients access to Withum’s significant breadth and depth of resources, giving us the opportunity to more effectively serve as a trusted advisor.”

Withum has 14 offices, 800 staff members and annual revenue of $140 million. The Princeton, N.J.-based firm ranked 32nd on Accounting Today’s 2016 list of the Top 100 Firms.

“We are thrilled to have the staff from McGuigan Tombs come on board,” said Andy Vitale, partner in charge of Withum’s Red Bank office. “Their expertise in serving clients in the construction industry will nicely augment our current construction practice. They will also enhance our private company practice in the local market.”
