On the move: EY receives volunteer award

KPMG announces new slate of line of business and U.S. sector leaders; RubinBrown promotes 17 partners across three offices; and more news from across the profession.

CALIFORNIA

Jeff Hughes was hired as a tax partner in private client services at Weaver, San Diego.

EY, San Francisco, was awarded the Jay Cuetara Community Volunteer Award by Larkin Street Youth Services, a nonprofit dedicated to ending youth homelessness through housing, health care, education and employment. The nonprofit honors one organization per year, and EY and its volunteers were recognized for leading financial literacy classes, building harm reduction kits and volunteering at Larkin Street events for almost two decades.

Sarah Elisseau, Rebecca Stewart and Ryan Cook were hired as staff accountants, and Dustin Smith as a senior accountant, at KPM CPAs & Advisors, Springfield.

TENNESSEE

The Tennessee Society of CPAs, Nashville, awarded $280,000 in scholarships through the TSCPA Educational & Memorial Foundation to 121 students attending colleges or universities in the state. Additionally, TSCPA hosted 27 students from colleges and universities across Tennessee Aug. 4-5 for the society's third annual Future CPA Leadership Summit.
