Host Analytics, which makes cloud-based enterprise management software, has released a collaborative planning, budgeting and forecasting solution called MyPlan. The tool is made for business owners, and aims to free up accountants to spend their time on more strategic tasks.
MyPlan was released in a beta version earlier this month as Project Orion.
The tool is targeted at business owners, so that finance and accounting teams can move away from the time-consuming task of collecting disparate data to make budgeting and forecasting decisions. Business owners can allocate and reallocate resources themselves, freeing the accountants to focus more on strategic initiatives and analysis.
“Up to now, the industry has failed to address this pain [of budgeting],” said Dave Kellogg, CEO of Host Analytics, in a statement. “When we surveyed our customers, they shared that they dread this process, and some went so far as to say that they would rather have a root canal than work on their budget,” “We decided to take a fresh look at this problem and solve it.
