IIA announces student case competition at upcoming conference

The Institute of Internal Auditors and the Internal Audit Foundation have announced a case study competition for college students at the upcoming 2018 Internal Auditing Education Partnership Exchange in Orlando this September.

The IAEP Exchange is aimed at internal audit students, educators and corporations. The conference is slated for September 14-16, 2018, at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, Fla. This year's theme is "Impacting the Future of Aspiring Internal Auditors."

The case study competition will focus on an important issue facing the internal audit profession. Student groups will be tasked with choosing a company or industry before presenting a comprehensive audit plan, focused on risk, to a panel of internal audit professionals and educators. The panel will then judge the presentations and select two winning groups.

“We look forward to once again hosting this premier event focused on learning for students who aspire to a career in the dynamic profession of internal audit,” stated IIA president and CEO Richard Chambers. “Our IAEP conference serves to benefit very specialized audiences from around the world by offering a unique blend of top-rated presentations from insightful speakers and keynote presenters. This is a great opportunity for students, in particular, to network with key professionals through various events that will prepare them for entering the world of internal audit.”

The conference is meant to prepare students for the transition from graduation to their early careers. Other conference activities will include mock job interviews, resume reviews and panel discussions with industry experts. Educators attending the conference will have the chance to learn best practices in internal auditing education.
