Gallina Expands to Utah by Merging in Leverich

Gallina LLP is expanding to Utah by combining with the public accounting firm Leverich Group in Midvale, near Salt Lake City.

The deal is set to take effect on January 1, expanding Gallina’s partnership ranks to 49 and staff to more than 300 employees.

The Leverich Group was founded in 1977 by Joseph P. Leverich and provides various services, including audit, tax, and financial and management consulting, focusing on the construction, real estate, health care, transportation and nonprofit sectors. Gallina targets the construction, real estate, agribusiness, government and nonprofit sectors.

“The business philosophies and industries served are very similar,” said Gallina managing partner Larry Taylor in a statement. “Both firms believe in developing long-term relationships while working with clients to promote the success of their business.”

Leverich currently has two partners and 17 other team members. Under the terms of the agreement, the firm will assume the Gallina name and partners Joseph P. Leverich and Steve Scoggan will join Gallina’s other 47 partners. Gallina’s Utah-based partner, Derek Evans, will also join the team and assume the role of partner-in-charge of Utah.

The former Leverich partners and staff will continue to operate from their current offices in Midvale. All employees are expected to remain with the combined firm, and new team members will be recruited to support their growth.

“Our team is enthusiastic about the change resulting from the combining of practices with Gallina LLP,” said Leverich in a statement. “By joining Gallina, we have an ability to better serve our clients by bringing them a greater depth of service offerings through more robust resources.

“This will also provide exceptional growth and expanded career opportunities for our team members in tax, audit and consulting from a local to international level,” he added.

Gallina ranked 91st on Accounting Today’s 2014 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $36.39 million in annual revenue. This merger and another recent combination in June with Mellon Johnson Reardon LLP in Ontario, Calif., are expected to add about $9 million more in revenue (see Gallina LLP to Acquire Mellon Johnson Reardon LLP). The Utah office will be Gallina’s 11th location. Headquartered in Roseville, the firm also has offices in Bellevue, Wash.; Las Vegas and Reno, Nev.; and Novato, Ontario, Rancho Cordova, Roseville, San Bruno, San Jose and Walnut Creek, Calif.
