CANADA

Details: McLarty & Co Professional Corporation has agreed to merge with MNP LLP.  The deal is set to close on Nov. 1, 2014.

"This merger builds on our plans for growth in eastern Canada as well our vision of becoming the nation's pre-eminent accounting and consulting firm. MNP employs over 3,000 professionals throughout Victoria to Montreal. For more than 65 years, MNP has served the mid-market public and private sectors in the areas of accounting, consulting and tax. MNP has also been recognized as one of Canada's 50 Best Employers by the AON Hewitt for six consecutive years.

Established in 1981, McLarty & Co is well known in Ottawa as an innovative public accounting company that serves a diverse group of clients, including business owners, car dealerships, healthcare professionals and real estate and construction companies.

McLarty & Co and their team of 30 will remain in their current location at Suite 110, 495 Richmond Road in Ottawa.

 

INDIANA

Details: Kemper CPA Group LLP has acquired Larry E. Nunn & Associates CPAs LLC.

The resulting offices will operate under the Kemper CPA Group LLP name and will be located at the existing Larry E. Nunn & Associates offices in Columbus, Seymour, and Plainfield, Ind.

The members of Larry E. Nunn & Associates will remain on staff at Kemper CPA Group LLP, with Mary Ann Nunn and Randy Effner joining Kemper CPA Group as partners, and Larry Nunn and Steve Blacketer serving in an advisory capacity.

The acquisition of Larry E. Nunn & Associates, LLC, which was established in 1976, strengthens Kemper CPA Group’s presence in Indiana. Kemper CPA Group is headquartered in Greenfield, Ind. and also operates offices in Connersville, Evansville, Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Vincennes, and Washington, Indiana.

“The timing of the opportunity was ideal, and the partnership is a great fit for both firms,” Kemper CPA Group’s managing partner said in a statement. “Any time you bring two successful accounting firms together, great things are bound to happen. We could not be more pleased."

Kemper CPA Group LLP was founded by Morris Kemper in Mt. Carmel, Illinois in 1958. With 22 offices in Illinois, Indiana, California, and Kentucky, Kemper CPA Group LLP is one of the 100 largest CPA firms in the nation. Services offered include tax return preparation and consulting, asset management services, medical practice management, computer network design and installation, as well as accounting software implementation. Additional services include employee benefit plan administration, as well as auditing, bookkeeping, and payroll services.

 

OHIO


Details: Baker & Associates CPAs LLC and Stephen L. Bossert CPA LLC have agreed to merge. Bossert’s firm will close its office on Main Street and move to the North Brookwood Avenue location in Hamilton, Ohio.

“Our combination with Baker & Associates represents the coming together of two highly respected firms in the area. We will continue to provide the highest quality of service to our nearly 1,000 clients with a greater ability to draw upon the expertise and resources for which Baker & Associates CPAs LLC and Stephen L. Bossert CPA LLC are well known,” Bossert said in a statement.

The combined public accounting firms employ 16 people, according to spokeswoman Denise Reier.

Baker & Associates serves privately-held businesses, nonprofit organizations and individuals with accounting services including tax preparation and filing, payroll, tax compliance services, bookkeeping, and Quickbooks accounting assistance. Additionally, the firm provides financial and retirement planning and can assist in IRS representation.
