MiddletonRaines+Zapata and Cindi Johnson PC Merge

MiddletonRaines+Zapata LLP has merged with Cindi Johnson, PC.

The merger, which closed on Jan. 13, 2014, gives MiddletonRaines+Zapata seven new members.

Cindi Johnson will join the firm as partner in the firm’s trust and estate tax practice. "Middleton gives us the opportunity to keep up with the latest technology in the field,” Johnson said in a statement. “We can bring to it our experience in other areas. We think it'll be a success, and we hope to be able to give as much as we receive in the merger."

Johnson has more than 34 years of accounting experience and she primarily works with individuals, trusts, estates and small business owners. Her estate tax knowledge complements MiddletonRaines+Zapata's existing tax and audit service offerings. Johnson opened her practice in Houston in 1980 after seven years as a corporate controller for PACE Management and Concerts.

Johnson is an active member of the Houston chapter of the Texas Society of CPAs and has spent the last two years as the chairman of the Relations with Taxing Authority Committee.
