Peachtree Now Officially Sage 50

Long-standing accounting software brand Peachtree is now Sage 50 Accounting, as Sage North America officially released the 2013 product line to the U.S. market, which boasts several new features including mobile payment abilities, integrated business intelligence and enhanced support.

The move comes as part of Sage’s overall plan to rebrand the company and products under the eponymous moniker, which it formally announced at Sage Summit 2011.

“Every small business is different, with unique challenges and goals. What they have in common is the need to streamline business processes, understand their data and get answers when they need them,” said Connie Certusi, executive vice president and general manager, small business accounting solutions, Sage North America. “Sage 50 Accounting–U.S. Edition delivers the trusted business management tools, support, and guidance that small businesses need to realize their unique business vision, whether it is growth, profitability or stability.”
Sage 50 customers will now be able to accept mobile payments from smartphones or tablets, where the data will flow into Sage 50. Sage Exchange also now integrates Web-based virtual terminals, and physical point-of-sale terminals for storefront businesses.

The product also includes access to Sage 50 Business Intelligence, which uses a Microsoft Excel interface with built-in templates for inventory, sales, purchasing and financial reporting.

In addition, new Sage 50 customers will receive Sage Business Care Silver – an auto-renewing service and support plan with resources and tools such as upgrades and updates, customer support, online training, a dedicated account manager, savings on credit card processing, and an HR resource center.

Other new features, which vary across products, include improved bank reconciliation, check printing, and the ability to inactivate multiple vendor records.

The Sage 50 Accounting 2013 product line is now available direct from Sage and will be available from most computer retailers and office supply stores in mid-June. The suggested retail price for Sage 50 Accounting 2013 starts at $269.
