MASSACHUSETTS

Gregory Chin has joined CohnReznick, Boston, as a partner in the Transactional Advisory Services Practice. In addition, firm principal and national director of tax credit investment services Fred Copeman received the 2016 Affordable Housing Vision Award from the National Housing and Rehabilitation Association in recognition of his stewardship and expansion of affordable housing opportunities for low-income families nationwide.

TEXAS

Sid Shaver has joined BVCA, a subsidiary of Briggs & Veselka, Houston, as a senior managing director in charge of the practice.

 

UNITED KINGDOM

The trustees of the IFRS Foundation announced several new appointments and reappointments to the IFRS Advisory Council. The 11 new members are: Jean Paul Gauzes, Paul George, Jessica Magana, Abdulrahman Fahd Almosad, Dr. Giuseppe Ballocchi, Dr. Jee In Jang, Olivia Larmaraud, James Luke, Prof. Xinyuan Chen, Suresh Senapaty and Dr. Etty Wulandari. The 10 reappointed members are: Roxana Damianov, Holger Daske, Micheline Dionne, Dr Jens Freiberg, Hidetake Ishihara, Olav Jones, Jrgen Kirchhof, Goro Kumagai, Surya Subramanian and Dr. Lothar Weniger.

 

WASHINGTON, D.C.

Marc A. Panucci has been appointed deputy chief accountant in the Office of the Chief Accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission. He will replace Brian Croteau. Panucci previously worked at the SEC from 2007 to 2010, and joins the SEC from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where he is a partner.

 

WISCONSIN

Nathan Volkomener will take on the role of managing shareholder and chairman of the board at Huberty CPAs & Trusted Advisors, Fond du Lac, on Jan. 1, 2017, succeeding Ann Freund, who announced plans to retire after the 2017 tax season. Volkomener will split his time between the home office in Fond du Lac and the Plymouth office, which he has been managing since joining the firm five years ago. In addition, Gary Born will serve as the new president, with Carla Biwan-Hameister as vice president, while Greg Feucht will continue as secretary/treasurer. The leadership changes were announced at the recent celebration of the company’s 35th anniversary. New leadership roles take effect on January 1, 2017.
