Avani Desai has joined BrightLine CPAs & Associates Inc., Tampa, as the firm’s first chief marketing and communications officer. Prior to joining BrightLine, Desai led KPMG’s technology attestation practice in Florida and served in the national office, where she supervised methodology, marketing, and communication activities across technology attestation service-lines. She also helped to develop KPMG’s internal and external privacy program and related practices broadening her experience with health care and emerging technologies such as, privacy, cloud computing, and virtualization.

 

GEORGIA

Adam Polakov was promoted to principal in the Tax Department of Porter Keadle Moore LLC, Atlanta. In his new role, Polakov will conduct audit committee presentations, as well as take part in the firm’s management and team development. Polakov has more than 14 years of public tax accounting experience and joined PKM in 2004 after a six-year stint at Deloitte LLP, where he served as a senior associate in the tax department.

 

HAWAII

Jason Nagai has been promoted to executive director at Ernst & Young LLP, Honolulu, where he will oversee the advisory practice for the firm. Nagai has been with the firm’s Honolulu office since 1994.

Mendy Nudelman was selected as national industry leader at McGladrey LLP, Chicago. In his new role, Nudelman will be responsible for ensuring alignment and integration of McGladrey's industry teams.

Stacey Hollings joined Elliott Davis LLC, Charleston, as tax manager, where she will assist clients with tax planning and compliance services. Hollings started her accounting career six years ago and focused on calculation of research and development credits.

Monica Moody joined Condley & Co. LLP, Abilene, as an audit in-charge with the firm’s Banking Services Group. Moody, who specializes in internal controls and compliance for banking institutions, will take on bank internal audits for the firm. … Randie St. Angelo has joined Better Bookkeepers Inc., Woodlands, as a bookkeeper.
