COLORADO

Stephen Williams has joined Hein & Associates LLP as National Director of International Tax Services in the Denver office. Williams has over 25 years of experience assisting global companies and individuals on cross-border tax and transfer pricing issues. Prior to joining Hein he lived in Calgary for 4 years where he worked for PwC. In his former role as Associate Tax Partner he assisted Canadian clients on tax matters related to operations and investments in the U.S. Prior to moving to Canada, Williams lived in the Dallas / Fort Worth area where he worked independently and with PwC as a corporate and international tax advisor.

GEORGIA

Mark Arrigo has been named the leader of Grant Thornton LLP’s Atlanta State and Local Tax practice. Arrigo previously worked in Grant Thornton’s Tampa office and led the Florida SALT practice since 2010. He will continue to serve as the Southeast region SALT leader after his relocation to Atlanta. He has nearly 25 years of experience providing both public and private companies with a variety of services, including controversy resolution, analysis of mergers and acquisitions, tax provision consulting and state tax planning and restructurings. … Peter Davies, a managing partner at CK Chartered Accountants, has been named chairman of the world board of directors at PrimeGlobal. … Moore Colson has made several promotions throughout the firm. The newly promoted includes: Candace Jackson and Kelly Bird who were promoted to senior managers. Stephanie George, Kenneth Griffin, Andrew Moore, Brad Parker and Mike Reynolds were promoted to managers. Caroline Geiger was promoted to senior associate.

ILLINOIS

Rod Adams has been named US Recruiting Leader for PwC US. In this role, he will be responsible for managing the campus and experienced recruiting activities for the US firm, including PwC's Advisory, Assurance and Tax lines of service. Previously, Adams served as PwC's Advisory Human Capital Strategy Leader and led leadership and career development programs for the firm. Adams will be based in the Chicago office. … Anna Coldwell and Peggy Vyborny have been elected as directors at Ostrow Reisin Berk & Abrams, Ltd.

KANSAS

Keysha Urie has been promoted to supervisor from senior accountant at Lewis, Hooper & Dick LLC. Kelly Drees and Jaron Zamarripa were promoted from staff accountant to senior staff accountant.

KENTUCKY

Kristen Hart has been promoted to senior accountant of the audit and assurance divisions of Riney Hancock CPAs. She joined Riney Hancock CPAs in 2010 and provides tax, auditing and assurance services for community banks, utilities, HUD-Assisted entities, governmental entities and non-profit organizations.

MARYLAND

NEW YORK

Harmen Bakker, Soula Tsambiras, Paul Schroer and Mary Sheridan were admitted into Citrin Cooperman’s partnership. Anna Galioto, Kenni Li, David Kells and Daniel Kohn will become principals in the firm. Li will also serve as the firm’s chief technology officer. Michael Iannuzzi, Dora Dvir, Marc Sonnenberg, Catherine Taylor, Eugene Ruvere and Anand Madhusudanan were promoted to directors at the firm. … Shashank Beri and Matthew Dubler have joined Gettry Marcus as senior tax accountants in the firm’s Woodbury, New York headquarters. Prior to joining Gettry Marcus, Beri was a senior tax accountant at WeiserMazars LLP. Dubler earned a B.S. Degree in Accounting in 2005 from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Dubler specializes in preparation and review of individual, corporate and partnership tax returns. He also has experience with responding to IRS and various State correspondences.

NORTH CAROLINA

Caren Rodriguez, director of marketing at Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., has been elected to serve as a board member of the Association of Accounting Marketing.

PENNSYLVANIA

Janice Seekford has achieved 50 years of service at Smith Elliott Kearns & Company LLC. Seekford joined the nascent company in 1964, just one year after its founding, as a clerical staff person.

TENNESSEE

Stratton Tingle has joined Decosimo as a business development associate where he will be working exclusively with the firm’s manufacturing and distribution services practice. Tingle will focus on matching the needs of manufacturers, distributors, supply chain and logistics entities, their owners and investors with Decosimo’s full range of industry-specific audit, tax, and advisory solutions.

WASHINGTON

The Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants has announced the following award winners for 2013-2014: Rick Anderson won the 2014 WSCPA John L. O’Brien Lifetime Achievement Award. Anderson is a partner at Moss Adams and Chairman of the Praxity Management Board. Sarah Ozanne won the 2014 WSCPA New Professionals Award. Ozanne has been a WSCPA member since joining as a student member in 2008. She is the new chair of the Puget Sound Young Professionals Committee, sits on the Washington CPA Foundation Scholarship Committee, and volunteers to speak to college students about the CPA profession. Ozanne is a senior accountant with Moss Adams, LLP in Everett, Washington. Wendy Kwan is the 2014 recipient of the WSCPA Rising Star Award. Kwan, a recent graduate from the University of Washington – Bothell, has been a tireless supporter of the WSCPA on the campus by promoting scholarships, the value of memberships, and spreading the word about opportunities to connect with CPAs. She was also a leader in the Beta Alpha Psi Club at UW-Bothell. Kwan is now working at Bader Martin, P.S. a public accounting firm in Seattle, Washington. Dave Trujillo is the 2014 recipient of the WSCPA Outstanding Volunteer Leader Award. Trujillo has been actively involved with the WSCPA’s Professional Conduct Committee, serving as both a member and the chair. He has been on the WSCPA Board of Directors, the Olympia Chapter Board, and on the 2010 WSCPA/State Board of Accountancy Structure and Operation Review Task Forces. Trujillo is the Executive Director of the Washington State Gambling Commission. Mike Cheney won the WSCPA Outstanding Volunteer Leader Award. Cheney has been on the WSCPA Government Accounting and Auditing Committee for the past 30 years. State Representative Roger Goodman is the recipient of the WSCPA Special Award Goodman has been actively involved with the WSCPA and AICPA. Representing Washington as a legislator, he addressed a national meeting of the AICPA. Goodman was also a panelist on the WSCPA’s first professional issues update webcast. Goodman demonstrates a good understanding of accounting profession’s needs and is an advocate for the profession in Olympia.
