With the closing of the deal, Ant’s Eye View consultants will join PwC’s other social networking and digital professionals, strengthening the firm services in helping client companies create and execute effective social media and digital marketing strategies.
As part of the deal, former AEV CEO Sean O'Driscoll and chief innovation officer Jake McKee have joined PwC as principals.
“We are very pleased to welcome these seasoned social media professionals to PwC’s Advisory Practice,” said PwC vice chairman and U.S. advisory leader Dana Mcilwain in a statement. “The addition of this talented team to our management consulting roster strengthens our ability to help our clients use social media to engage with their customers and employees, creating a positive and powerful brand experience.”
PwC sees the acquisition as part of its commitment to building depth in areas that meet the needs of clients.
“Brand management begins with activating and embedding the customer voice into every aspect of the business, and the breadth of PwC’s consulting capabilities coupled with their deep industry skills will enable us to deliver greater value to companies ready to take the transformative leap to become a true social enterprise,” said O'Driscoll.
The acquisition was completed Sept. 21, 2012. Financial terms were not disclosed.

This shows that the big consulting firms have a gap in their offering when it comes to digital and are trying to bridge it by acquiring smaller digital/social businesses. I hope the smaller company doesn't get choked with big company processes and that they can collaborate effectively. Well done to the Ant's Eye View guys I'll bet they had a big party to celebrate!
