Rehmann, a Top 100 Firm based in Troy, Mich., has added Trivalent Group, a managed IT service provider headquartered in Grandville, Mich., effective April 1.
The deal is expected to expand Rehmann’s existing technology services and debut a managed IT solutions practice at the firm.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but Rehmann anticipates the deal will add to its revenues. “We expect to see a positive impact on our bottom line as a result of the combination with Trivalent, and we anticipate continued growth as an organization with these new services under our belt,” said Rehmann CEO Randy Rupp. “However, at this time, we are not disclosing that information.”
Rehmann ranked 38th on Accounting Today’s 2018 list of the Top 100 Firms, with $116 million in annual revenue.
Rehmann has 63 partners and more than 800 staff members, while Trivalent’s staff is more than 80 people. Trvialent CEO Larry Andrus is the sole owner.
Trivalent provides managed services and other IT solutions for more than 700 clients. The firm has offices in Grandville, Traverse City, Battle Creek, East Lansing and Midland, Mich. It specializes in managed services, managed cloud, cyber security, managed networks and business continuity, expand Rehmann’s existing cybersecurity and technology consulting services.
Rupp sees a parallel between Trivalent’s client service approach and his own firm’s model. Trivalent Group has what it calls a Relentless Service philosophy, which matches up with Rehmann’s service model, known as The Rehmann Experience. Both firms aim to help clients achieve their overall business goals.

Trivalent Group initially plans to maintain its name while operating under the Rehmann umbrella. The firms will provide expanded services immediately throughout the Midwest, with full integration starting next year. Andrus will continue to spearhead Trivalent, while Rupp will be CEO of both organizations.
