Corporations Looking to Hire More Tax Pros

Companies are expanding their hiring of tax professionals.

TaxTalent, a leadership development company, surveyed 356 middle-market and large companies for its Tax Hiring Outlook and found 69 percent of those polled said they would be hiring more people for their tax departments, a 28 percent increase from hiring data in 2014.

Contributing factors behind the increased hiring include stronger economic growth, acceleration of retirements by Baby Boomers, and unexpected turnover.

"In 2014, we saw a significant drop in expected hiring from the 2013 data,” said TaxTalent president Tony Santiago in a statement. “However our U.S. search and recruiting evidence proved that the 2014 projected hiring downturn was not what actually happened. There is strong evidence this year that corporate tax hiring authorities are more in alignment with the current market reality."
