Xero has appointed Hubdoc co-founder Jamie McDonald as executive general manager of product, accounting and global services. McDonald will continue in his role as co-CEO of Hubdoc, which Xero acquired last August.
McDonald’s appointment comes shortly after the departure of Herman Man, former vice president of products and partnerships at Xero.
Hubdoc has been one of the most popular integrated products amongst Xero users, which is what led to its acquisition of Xero last year. McDonald’s appointment is another step towards bringing the expertise from document collection and management app closer to Xero’s workforce and knowledge and expertise bank.
McDonald’s expanded role involves leading the continued development of Xero’s core accounting products for small businesses, including Xero Mobile. Xero is setting a goal of ensuring automation and intelligence are at the core of all its products; McDonald will be charged with keeping this goal on course.

The Hubdoc go-to-market teams will continue to report to Jamie Shulman, McDonald’s co-CEO at Hubdoc.
