The AICPA announced last week that Julya Faulkner, a graduate student attending Ohio Northern University, has been awarded the Beta Alpha Psi Medal of Inspiration Award. The award was presented at the Beta Alpha Psi Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Md.

As the world becomes more interconnected and firms adopt a more global mindset, there’s been a growing trend to expand accounting services—be they charitable or otherwise—in new and developing markets. The AICPA announced this week that Danielle Supkis Cheek, president of D. Supkis Cheek in Houston and adjunct professor at Rice University, was named winner of the Outstanding Young CPA Award in Honor of Maximo Mukelabai. KPMG announced on Thursday a partnership with The Ohio State University Max M. Fisher College of Business and the Villanova School of Business to develop new master's degree programs focusing on data and analytics (D&A) in accounting. Dubbed the "KPMG Master of Accounting with Data and Analytics Program," KPMG is looking to "develop auditors in the digital age."
