The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) announced on Monday the election of Angela Witzany as chairman of the organizations 2016-2017 Global Board of Directors. The election of Witzany, as well as the rest of the Global Board, was held at the IIAs annual business meeting following the organizations 75th International Conference in New York City.

According to a new survey from Accountemps, 30 percent of surveyed CFOs cited a motivation to learn new skills as the most necessary trait for professionals to succeed in today's business landscape. Interpersonal skills (27 percent) and the ability to "adapt easily to change" (24 percent) followed closely behind.

Josh Cherwin, director of Institutional Advancement for the Memorial and Museum, accepted the donation from IA International Conference co-chairs Nick DiMola and Paul Flora.

York University in Toronto announced on Tuesday that their School of Continuing Studies will start offering post-graduate accounting certificates this September, approved by the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Ontario. The courses look to further prepare students to thrive in the accounting profession, as well as gaining an advantage in applying to the Schulich School of Business' Masters of Accounting program.
