Accordance announced its public launch, offering what it calls an "AI brain" for tax and accounting that serves as an intelligent copilot for professionals. Accordance includes knowledge about global regulations, decades of synthesized professional experience, and the ability to navigate complex scenarios. The platform's multi-agent system is trained on libraries of authoritative federal, state, local and international codices, spanning federal tax statutes and accounting standards to complex court precedents, international tax treaties, and state and local ordinances. The company has received $13 million in funding. The funding includes $10 million in seed funding led by Khosla Ventures along with $3 million in pre-seed funding led by General Catalyst. Other investors include Anthropic, NEA, Bain Capital Ventures and Sequoia Capital.

AuditDashboard announces 8.0 release with Microsoft 365 and Copilot integration

AuditDashboard, an accounting workflow solutions provider, announced its 8.0 release. In addition to its current features, the new release offers Office 365 integration so firms can now view Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files directly in their browser using the Microsoft licenses they're already paying for. It also has Microsoft Copilot Integration so firms can access the AI-powered functionality they're already approved to use while reviewing PBC documents submitted by their clients, using it to do things like summarize content, extract key data, and ask natural-language questions using the E3 or E5 licenses their firm is already paying for. Beyond that, the new release offers more granular notification settings to personalize the user experience, powerful new filter options, @ Mentions to notify multiple users, and global search, which includes site-wide navigation and the ability to search across clients, users and engagements. There is also more API documentation for 65+ endpoints to support customers, integration partners and in-house developers.

Audit Sight releases new analytics module for insights

Assurance solutions provider Audit Sight announced its Audit and Review Analytics Module, offering audit professionals insights into client performance through automated trend analysis on financial statement balances, drill-down anomaly detection, customer and vendor concentration analysis, and key ratio calculations. The module works across any client, industry, general ledger or ERP system. Audit Sight's latest release follows the launch of its Management Meeting Module.

Sourcetable uses AI to expand connectivity options

Spreadsheet and data solutions provider Sourcetable announced a new agentic AI capacity that allows it to connect its software to any database, API, Model Context Protocol server, or third party application on the internet, using natural language and AI, a feature it calls Superagents. If it's connected to the internet, it can probably connect to Sourcetable, according to the company. In practical terms, this means users can now access and analyze all of the data across all their business applications from right inside their spreadsheet without the need to write code or complicated queries. Sourcetable's AI chat also doubles as a connector wizard; if users are not sure how to add an application, they can ask the AI and it will provide step-by-instructions on what information they need to provide in order to connect their data to Sourcetable.

Lili lets users pay and get paid in local currencies

Lili, which offers business banking, credit building and accounting solutions for small and midsized businesses, added a new feature that lets users pay international vendors and receive payments in various currencies. This new capability enables businesses to make international payments in 130 currencies. This follows an earlier announcement where Lili expanded its product offering to enable SMBs to make international payments to vendors and customers in general. Lili offers inbound transfers, high outbound transaction limits, enhanced security, and enables SMBs to pay or receive funds within 24 hours.

Avalara funds Commission on Sustainability Data at Kellogg University

Tax solutions provider Avalara announced a partnership with Kellogg College at the University of Oxford, which is exploring how businesses can tap into their transaction data to enhance the accuracy and credibility of carbon emissions and other reporting. Avalara funded Oxford University's Commission on Sustainability Data to help companies better understand how they can access reliable data on operational performance amid sustainability claims made by global organizations.

Partnerships, integrations and M&A

Accounting practice management solutions provider Aiwyn acquired QuickFee's U.S. payments business (QuickFee Pay Now and QuickFee Connect). Through its partnership with QuickFee, Aiwyn is expanding its product suite by providing customers access to QuickFee's Pay Later finance offering. QuickFee customers can continue to use their existing payment solutions, while gaining access to Aiwyn's integrated platform, including practice management, client experience and AI tax solutions. QuickFee will continue to operate its financing business independently. …  BillingPlatform, a billing solutions provider, announced that the Texas Stock Exchange has selected its Billing solution based on its architecture, design and ability to support TXSE's complex, bidirectional transaction fees. Headquartered in Dallas, the TXSE plans to be a fully integrated, electronic national securities exchange that will enable U.S. and global companies to access U.S. equity capital markets. The TXSE is expected to launch trading early next year, with listings by the end of the same year. …  Paychex., a payroll solutions provider, announced a new financial management solution for accounts payable provided by finops platform Bill. Launched through Paychex Flex, Bill Pay, Powered by Bill, integrates payroll, HR and accounts payable so organizations can manage their people and payments. Users can automate bill payments with payment options through Paychex Flex; access Bill's network of more than 8 million businesses to find and pay vendors; and get insights into payment status

New hires and appointments

The Information Technology Alliance announced the appointment of new leaders and members to its board of directors. Kane Polakoff, principal, client advisory services at CohnReznick, has been named ITA board chair. Michael Pynch, technology partner and CIO at Wipfli, will serve as board vice-chair. The ITA also welcomed two new members to its board of directors: Kevin Sexton, CIO at Cohen & Co., and Melissa Craig, senior manager, strategic alliances, at Avalara. The ITA board collaborates closely with ITA president Geni Whitehouse and vice president Lissa Johnsen to advance the association's mission. ITA members will next convene at the 2025 Fall Collaborative, November 2–4 in Scottsdale, Arizona. …  Karbon, a provider of accounting practice management software, announced the appointment of Vivek Srivastava as senior director of product. In this newly created role, Srivastava will lead Karbon's AI product vision and strategy, driving the company's mission to help accounting firms modernize and operate as intelligent, connected businesses. Prior to joining Karbon, he was director of AI product management at Workday, where he launched several AI-powered capabilities and helped define the company's generative AI strategy.

London-based accounting automation solutions provider Artifact AI announced its official U.S. launch and plans to open a New York City office in October. Its AI monitors key metrics for clients and jumps straight to their transactions or linked accounts with one click. It also manages the books by financial events with their underlying journal entries, AI scores, explanations and audit trails; and also tracks revenue, expenses and profitability.
