GUMBINER SAVETT

Southern California firm Gumbiner Savett dedicated October to fundraising efforts to honor Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with proceeds benefiting the Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

The firm held bake sales throughout the month, featuring items made by staff members. The firm will match all proceeds raised from the bake sales.

“We are proud of our people and the enthusiasm that has been created for our Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” stated Shreedhar Kothari, audit and accounting shareholder at Gumbiner Savett. “We feel it is important that as a firm, we support local charities like the Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.”

This marks the fourth year the firm has dedicated October to aiding the Dr. Susan Love Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. The charity aims to improve the lives of those affected by breast cancer through education and advocacy.

"We do the breast cancer research no one else will or can," said Christopher Clinton Conway, CEO of the Dr. Susan Love Foundation, in a statement. "Charitable donations from organizations such as Gumbiner Savett empower the Foundation's vision for meaningful research and forging unique partnerships that create the clearest path for making breast cancer a thing of the past."

MARCUM FINANCIAL SERVICES

Marcum Financial Services, an affiliate of Marcum LLP, will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year by giving back to local communities via financial literacy courses.

The company will dedicate the next 12 months to charitable activities. Financial advisors in each of the six Marcum Financial Services offices — located in New York City, Long Island, California, Florida, Illinois and Pennsylvania — will provide financial literacy programs to a local school in their community. Advisors will also volunteer with local charities of their choosing.

“Marcum has a strong ethic of giving back to the communities where we live and work," stated Steven Brett, president of Marcum Financial Services. "Celebrating 10 years of service to our clients is an opportunity to emphasize the importance of financial literacy and to lend our expertise to others who can benefit from understanding different types of investment vehicles, how to set financial goals, and how to approach the challenge of achieving them. We are privileged to serve our clients every day, and now we have the chance to serve our communities as well.”
