BANGLADESH

M M Rahman & Co., Dhaka, was appointed a member firm of global tax and accounting network Russell Bedford.

CALIFORNIA

Employees of SD Mayer & Associates, San Francisco, volunteered at the SF-Marin Food Bank for the annual community giving day that is part of the firm’s We Care service initiative.

CONNECTICUT

BlumShapiro Consulting, a division of Blum, Shapiro & Co., earned a President’s Club distinction as a top-performing partner by Sage Intacct.

FLORIDA

Global firm association CPAmerica International has named HK Marketing Consulting for CPA Firms as a member preferred provider. CPAI member firm Honkamp Krueger & Co. PC will help other CPA firms with marketing and branding consulting.

KPMG LLP has allied itself with marketing execution firm InnerWorkings Inc. to help clients get the most from their marketing spending through technology and services designed to increase efficiencies, improve consistency and drive savings.

KANSAS

The Mize Restaurant Group of Mize Houser & Co., Topeka, launched a new service, Mize Restaurant Group Controllership Services, to help McDonald’s owner/operators manage their accounting, financial, payroll and internal controls. Greg Harry and Christy Gurney have joined the Mize Restaurant Group team to lead the new offering.

MARYLAND

The Association for Accounting Marketing, Forest Hill, appointed six new members to its board of directors: Ed Warren, director of practice growth at PB Mares LLP; Bonnie Buol Ruszczyk (pictured), owner/founder of BBR Cos. LLC; Katie Butler, marketing manager at Weinstein, Spira & Co. PC; Crystal Mapp, marketing director at KPM CPAs; Natalie McCann, national account manager & marketing strategist at Thomson Reuters; and Nicole Sterling, director of marketing & communications at RSW.

MASSACHUSETTS

The Massachusetts Society of CPAs, Boston, launched a new accounting-focused college academy at Haverhill High School enabling high school students to earn up to 12 college credits through the University of Massachusetts—Lowell. (Read the full story.)
