Blue & Co., Carmel, was named one of the 2017 Best Places to Work in Indiana in the large employer category, marking the eighth time the firm has received the award, which is determined by the Best Companies based on employer reports and employee surveys.

The Indiana CPA Society, Indianapolis, was presented with a Gold Award for Best New App and a Silver Award for eLearning and Live Training by Association Trends at a Washington, D.C. luncheon. The Best New App, IndustryUs, was created in 2015 as part of its strategic plan to increase recruitment and retention for CPA members working in business and industry by creating an easy way for users to search for relevant educational offerings and discounts, accumulate rewards, and have a direct connection to INCPAS staff and an HR hotline. The INCPAS’s silver award was bestowed for the CPA Center of Excellence center, its wholly-owned subsidiary established in 2014 to enhance business skills vital to the success of CPAs and other professionals.

MISSOURI

Anders CPA, St. Louis, introduced a set of challenges, Anders Mission Possible, this Busy Season as a fun and collaborative way to relive stress. Organized by tax partner Craig Campbell and tax senior manager Adam Prest, each week employees receive a randomly assigned challenge, which they complete and then submit to be graded based on completion and creativity. NEW YORK

KPMG is donating 150,000 new books to children, including the millionth book through the firm’s Family for Literacy program, as part of a “Read to Succeed” initiative conducted in partnership with nonprofit social enterprise First Book. More than 100 KPMG offices will host book Read to Succeed distribution events at schools and community organizations in the coming weeks, including on March 2 for the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day. Large pop-up book fairs will take place in Washington D.C., St. Louis, New Orleans/Baton Rouge, Detroit, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Charlotte, N.C., and Kansas City, Mo.

Skoda Minotti Strategic Marketing, Cleveland, the marketing agency for Skoda Minotti, introduced CPA ContentPlus, a repository of hundreds of ready-to-use blogs and articles, regularly updated and accessible to CPA firms.

PENNSYLVANIA

Maher Duessel, Pittsburgh, has expanded with two new offices in Pennsylvania. The firm added an office in Erie, at 1001 State Street in the Renaissance Centre. The firm's second new office, in State College, is located at 237 South Allen Street and is part of the New Leaf Initiative co-working space.

SPAIN

Andersen Tax & Legal debuted in Spain as the Spanish member firm of Andersen Global, Global Abogados, officially taking on the Andersen name.
