CALIFORNIA

RoseRyan, Newark, is celebrating 25 years in business this year, and in conjunction with the milestone, released a list of “25 Reasons to celebrate 25 years,” containing fun facts and information on the ways the firm works and hires, which is available here.

Intuit, Mountain View, named the finalists and runners up for its Firm of the Future contest. The finalists are: Cloud Bookkeeping Services, Canada; PJCO, U.K.; Reconciled, U.S.; Regional Business Services Pty Ltd, Australia; and Wealth Café Business Advisors Pvt Ltd, India. In the next phase, each finalist will develop a creative video demonstrating what makes them a Firm of the Future, which will be available for public voting on the Firm of the Future website from Oct. 16-31.

CANADA

RSM Canada announced the acquisition of three Alberta firms, from Calgary, Red Deer and Edmonton, with the transactions expected to close early November.

FLORIDA

CPAmerica International, Gainesville, announced Surgent CPE as a new preferred provider for the association, giving member firms discounted pricing for its CPE education and exam preparation services.

ITALY

Studio CMFC, Turin and Milan, joined global network Nexia International as a member firm.

KENTUCKY

Dean Dorton Allen Ford, Lexington, launched Dean Dorton Wealth Management, an independent, registered investment advisor to serve the financial needs of current and prospective clients, to be led by David Parks.

MASSACHUSETTS

Marcum placed first in two categories of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s 2018 Reader Rankings of service providers to the state’s legal community: Best Accounting Firm and Best Forensic Accounting.

Rodman CPAs, Waltham, announced that two students from the Boston-based Invest in Girls program, both juniors from Fenway High School in Roxbury, recently completed internships at the firm.

NEW YORK

Marcum, New York, certified a Guinness World record honoring 9/11 hero Welles Crowther, which was featured in the debut episode of new show “Breaking History.” Marcum partner John Hughes and manager Nicholas O’Rourke (pictured) served as witnesses for the successful attempt to break the record for most bandanas tied together as a tribute to Crowther, who sacrificed his life to rescue more than a dozen people during the attacks. PriceWaterhouseCoopers, New York, formed an alliance with Kofax to deliver the software company’s intelligent automation solutions to clients, while providing assistance and consulting services. Through the alliance, PwC and Kofax will develop industry-specific solutions. (Read the full story.)

The Bonadio Group, Rochester, donated Red Wings game tickets to 22 nonprofit organizations, continuing its annual tradition, led by partner Gerald Archibald, of inviting charitable organizations for an outing to Frontier Field to watch the hometown minor league baseball team.

CBIZ, Cleveland, launched a new branding campaign, with the goals of showcasing the firm’s unique culture, building awareness of the firm’s services and expertise, and positioning the firm as a trusted resource. The campaign will include ads running on major network news channels in 25 markets.

OREGON

Jones & Roth, Eugene, joined PrimeGlobal as a member firm in the accounting firm association.

UGANDA

BRJ Partners, Kampala, joined Mazars’ international integrated partnership, becoming Mazars BRJ.

VIRGINIA
