In other firm news, blumshapiro will be hosting the sixth annual JA Career Walk on May 3, an event that will welcome nearly 30 students from West Hartford’s Hall High School, Conard High School and Kingswood Oxford School and nearby Newington High School to the West Hartford Center to learn about career opportunities in the community. The department of accounting at the Fox School of Business will be hosting the third annual Accounting Achievement Awards May 1 at The Lucy by Cescaphe in Philadelphia. The school is recognizing six Temple University alumni for their achievements and impact on the business community and Philadelphia region, as announced in December.

TEXAS

Amanda Beabout, senior manager, and Amy Sahely, manager, at Whitley Penn, Houston, both competed in the 2019 Boston Marathon on April 15. Beabout qualified when participating in the 2018 Woodlands Marathon with a time of 3:29:15, placing second in her division, and Sahely qualified at the Mountains to Beach in 2018 with a time of 3:23:58.
