RSM US announced the opening of its client-focused RSM Technology Experience Center in Denver, the latest development in its innovation strategy and the first of multiple such centers the firm plans to open. MASSACHUSETTS

Blumshapiro held a Business Officers Meeting for Massachusetts and Rhode Island Independent Schools April 2 at the firm’s 4 Batterymarch Park, Quincy, location (pictured). The meeting focused on timely financial and legal issues facing business officers, and featured a variety of sessions and presenters. In other firm news, blumshapiro will be hosting the sixth annual JA Career Walk on May 3, an event that will welcome nearly 30 students from West Hartford’s Hall High School, Conard High School and Kingswood Oxford School and nearby Newington High School to the West Hartford Center to learn about career opportunities in the community. The event was created in 2014 by blumshapiro, PBI Financial Group and Junior Achievement of Southwest New England.

NEW YORK

Deloitte released a “Global Cost Survey,” which found that technologies like robotic process automation, advanced analytics, cloud-based ERP systems and other innovations are essential to cost management.

The Bonadio Group, Pittsford, was named one of the Top Workplaces 2019 in Rochester and Albany by the Democrat and Chronicle and Albany Times Union, respectively, and received a Best Places to Work honor in Buffalo by Buffalo Business First.

The Institute of Management Accountants is hosting a Women’s Accounting Leadership Series on May 3 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Baruch College in New York City. The forum will feature presentations and discussion panels for professionals in accounting and finance. This year’s event will also feature a screening and discussion of the documentary “Equal Means Equal,” on May 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the EY offices in Times Square.

PENNSYLVANIA

Kreischer Miller, Horsham, was ranked as the top midsized employer on The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Top Workplaces list for 2019.

The department of accounting at the Fox School of Business will be hosting the third annual Accounting Achievement Awards May 1 at The Lucy by Cescaphe in Philadelphia. The school is recognizing six Temple University alumni for their achievements and impact on the business community and Philadelphia region, as announced in December.

TEXAS

Amanda Beabout, senior manager, and Amy Sahely, manager, at Whitley Penn, Houston, both competed in the 2019 Boston Marathon on April 15. Beabout qualified when participating in the 2018 Woodlands Marathon with a time of 3:29:15, placing second in her division, and Sahely qualified at the Mountains to Beach in 2018 with a time of 3:23:58.
