Smith + Howard, Atlanta, introduced a business office services practice designed to help independent schools address operational inefficiencies, staffing gaps and financial challenges.

Abigail Smith was appointed the first ever chief financial officer at Abdo, Edina, which she rejoins after previously working in the nonprofit division for over three years.

Allison Kirchhofer was hired as director of the cannabis practice and Mathew Giordano was promoted to head of tax controversy at Sax, Parsipanny.

Meghan Collins was hired as Florida state and local government and advisory lead at CohnReznick, Tallahassee.

Asha Shettigar was hired as a tax partner and lead of the real estate investment trusts practice at Cohen & Co., New York.

The Public Interest Oversight Board's Standard-Setting Boards Nominations Committee announced it is now accepting applications for an upcoming vacancy on the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, with the term beginning Jan. 1, 2026, and the application window open until May 11, 2025.
