ARIZONA

Tom Wheelwright

Tom Wheelwright, author and CEO of WealthAbility, Tempe, will be leading the CPA Revolution Masterclass on Aug. 5-7 at Westgate Park City Resort & Spa in Park City, Utah, where he will be sharing the strategies he used to build and scale multiple CPA firms.

CALIFORNIA

Tony Klaich was named managing partner of markets and industries at Crowe, San Francisco.

COLORADO

Nadine Pietrowski was named managing partner of the cannabis services group at Crowe, Denver.

CONNECTICUT

The Financial Accounting Standards Board, Norwalk, appointed two new members to the Emerging Issues Task Force: Jack Ciesielski, founder, R.G. Associates, and Brandon Coleman, partner—national office accounting & reporting services, Deloitte.

FLORIDA

Joe Magyar was named managing partner of the retail dealership services group at Crowe, Tampa.

GEORGIA

PrimeGlobal, Duluth, reported a combined annual firm revenue of U.S. $3.5 billion, increasing revenue 20% in 2020-21. The firm also launched its new global Strategy 2025 this year,

ILLINOIS

John Epperson was named managing partner of the financial services group and Scott Spencer was named managing partner of the manufacturing and distribution services group at Crowe, Chicago.

INDIANA

Crowe promoted: Gary Fox to corporate development leader; Michele Sullivan to managing partner in the insurance services group; Herschel Frierson to principal in consulting and strategic client solutions leader; Adam Lawrence to managing partner of the food and commodities services group; Mindy Herman to managing principal of the life sciences services group; Tony Barnes to managing principal of the metals services group; and Clayton Mitchell to managing principal of the fintech services group.

The Indiana CPA Society, Indianapolis, announced its directors for 2021-22. KENTUCKY

The Association of Accounting Marketing, Lexington, appointed six members to its board of directors: Greg Cole, chief marketing officer at BKD CPAs & Advisors; Cheryl Foster, director of practice growth at Brown Smith Wallace (effective Aug. 1, Brown Smith Wallace will join Armanino and Cheryl will assume the role of director, demand generation—industry); Jessica Hekmatjah, chief marketing officer at BPM; Laura Metz, marketing & communications manager at Moore North America; Randy Mowat, partner, SVP marketing at MNP; and Chris O’Day, director of marketing at ALL CPAs.

MAINE

BerryDunn, Portland, announced several promotions and appointments. On the leadership team, the firm announced: Renee Bishop, chief operating officer of tax, assurance and advisory; Colleen Oakley, chief sales and marketing officer; Robert Moore, chief administrative officer; and Chad Snow, chief operating officer of consulting. The firm also elected Kathy Parker to a three-year term on the board, replacing Tim Masse, who is completing his second three-year term, the limit for consecutive terms. BerryDunn named Todd Desjardins to quality assurance principal, and also named to principal: Danielle Ewing, Nicolle Field, Ryan Gough, Brandon Milton, Emily Parker and Kevin Price. The firm also named, as new practice group leaders: Bill Brown, government assurance; Tammy Brunetti, health care audit; Ed Daranyi, Medicaid; Jim Highland, health analytics; Julie Keim, general group; Charlie Leadbetter, state government; Tammy Michaud, not-for-profit audit; Rob Smalley, financial services audit; and Chad Snow, local government. Finally, the firm named the new training room facility in the Portland headquarters office as the John M. Chandler Learning & Development Center, in recognition of Chandler’s 22 years of leadership as the firm’s managing principal/CEO.

MARYLAND

Paul Previti was promoted to supervisor, Michael McCartney to senior associate, and Hannah Bumbaugh to senior human resources associate, at SEK CPAs & Advisors, Hagerstown.

MASSACHUSETTS

Nadzeya Shkoda

Nadzeya Shkoda and Jonathan Cohen-Gorczyca were promoted to manager at Melanson, Greenfield.

MISSOURI

William Koch was hired as a staff accountant at KPM CPAs & Advisors, Springfield.

NEW HAMPSHIRE

Oreste Mosca, managing director at Nathan Wechsler & Co., Concord, was elected chair of Leadership New Hampshire’s board of trustees, where he has served on the board of directors since 2015.

NEW JERSEY

Jennifer Bertino

Jennifer Bertino and Stefanie Spinelli DeSantis were elected to partner at Bowman & Co., Voorhees, where they have worked since 1998 and 2001, respectively. The firm also promoted Laurie Beckman and Amy Perrone to senior manager.

Stephen McNally was appointed chair of the global board of directors for the Institute of Management Accountants, Montvale, for its 2022 fiscal year.

NEW YORK

EisnerAmper, New York, announced that its FAS group won the Turnaround Atlas Award in the category of Health Care Restructuring Deal of the Year from the Global M&A Network, recognizing the firm’s contributions to the Bellwether Behavioral Health Group restructuring.

Wojeski & Co., Albany, joined Russell Bedford as a member firm of the global network.

BKR International, New York, appointed four new board members to the Americas regional board: Alicia Brockland, managing partner, Conner Ash, St. Louis; Clarence Kehoe, partner, Anchin, Block & Anchin, New York City; Francisco Perdomo, managing partner, PSV & Co., San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Charlotte Tay, managing partner, Lindquist, von Husen and Joyce, San Francisco.

NORTH CAROLINA

Lisa Sawicki, partner at PwC US, Charlotte, was elected to chair the firm’s Global Governance Board.

OHIO

Mindy Marsden

Mindy Marsden, a senior manager in the transaction advisory services practice, was elected partner at Bober Markey Fedorovich, Akron, where she has worked since 2008. In other firm news, Bober Markey Fedorovich earned ClearlyRated’s Best of Accounting Award for providing superior service based on ratings provided by their clients.

William Watts was named managing principal of the consumer markets services group at Crowe, Columbus.

Clark Schaefer Hackett promoted, in the Columbus office: Brian Mosier to shareholder and Natosha Dilley to senior manager; in the Cincinnati office: Brittany Bischoff, Eric Linneman and Justin Vanderglas to senior manager; in Miami Valley: Randy Smith to chief information officer, and Cody Cain and David Rich to senior manager.

PENNSYLVANIA

Colleen Hall was named managing principal of the health care services group at Crowe, Pittsburgh.

Victoria Fiorino was promoted to tax manager at SEK CPAs & Advisors, Hanover.

TEXAS

George Rendziperis

George Rendziperis was hired as a tax principal in the state and local tax practice at REDW, Austin.

Shane Miller, WPWealth partner at Whitley Penn, Fort Worth, was named to the 2021 Fort Worth Business Press’s 40 Under Forty list. In other firm news, Whitley Penn announced more than 80 firm promotions. The full list is available here.

The Virginia Society of CPAs, Richmond, launched a new, enhanced career center offering job postings, résumé review services, and other career and talent management resources.

WEST VIRGINIA

Emily Signorelli, a director in the Charleston office of Brown Edwards, was named an honoree of the 2021 Class of Generation Next: 40 under 40 by the State Journal.

WISCONSIN

The National Association of Tax Professionals, Appleton, announced upcoming in-person education events this fall, including its annual two-day Tax Forum & Expo event in Las Vegas (Sept. 21-22); Atlantic City (Sept. 28-29); and Orlando (Oct. 20-21).
