Armanino, San Ramon, held its annual Great Give day of service Oct. 28, returning to in-person volunteering for its 13th year of volunteer hours and philanthropic projects. Armanino set aside 12,000 hours for employees to volunteer. To date, the Armanino Foundation has donated more than $1,082,443 to a variety of charities through the annual event.

CONNECTICUT

The Financial Accounting Standards Board, Norwalk, selected Derek Christensen, a doctoral student at the University of Wisconsin—Madison, as the recipient of its Emerging Scholar Award, a program established in 2021 to garner interest among emerging scholars in research relevant to accounting standard-setting. The New Jersey Society of CPAs, Roseland, released a new survey, sponsored by OWG, that found out of more than 130 CPAs surveyed in November, 88% said they were either very current or somewhat current on new technologies, yet a little over 60% struggle with learning how to use existing technologies at their organization, among other findings.
