On the move: FICPA appoints chief external affairs officer

IIA appoints global board chair; Schneider Downs adds seven shareholders; and more news from across the profession.

ARKANSAS

Landmark CPAs, Fort Smith, was presented with the ESGR Pro Patria Award by the Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, a Department of Defense program, in recognition of the firm's support of employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve.

CALIFORNIA

Windes, Long Beach, promoted to partner: Kelly Buck and Ben McKinney in the audit and assurance services department; Miriam Kaplan in client accounting services; and Brooke Sigler and Tim Suarez in the tax department.

FLORIDA

Jason Harrell

Jason Harrell was appointed chief external affairs officer at the Florida Institute of CPAs, effective July 17.

Jay Newsome was hired as a senior manager in the financial institution consulting group at Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund, Pensacola.

ILLINOIS

After the appointment of Richard Lynch and Antony Nettleton as managing partners of the CPA business, Sikich appointed Matthew Denton to take over for Nettleton with responsibility for the Northern Illinois market; and Drew Long in central Illinois and St. Louis as partner-in-charge of the company's not-for-profit sector and Central Illinois market lead, taking over for Lynch. The firm also appointed Jason Tuma in northeast Ohio as Akron market expansion leader; Jill Boyle as leader of not-for-profit; Brian LeFevre as leader of state and local government; and Melinda DeCorte as leader of the new federal vertical. In other firm news, Sikich announced the 2023 James A. Sikich Visionary Scholarship recipients: Jack Glazer, a senior at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Alexander Tosetti, a senior at Augustana College.

The Visionary Group, Palatine, launched a universal transition planning division.

KENTUCKY

Kathy Herbig was hired as tax partner at MCM CPAs & Advisors, Louisville.

MISSOURI

Arianna Campbell was appointed chief operating officer and Jon Hubbard as chief growth officer at Boomer Consulting, Kansas City.

NEBRASKA

Katie Roberts

Katie Roberts was promoted to health care director in the Lincoln office and Jeff Paesl to audit director in the Omaha office, at Lutz.

THE NETHERLANDS

Sally-Anne Pitt was appointed global board chair of the Institute of Internal Auditors for 2023-24.

NEW JERSEY

Andrew Fingerhut

Andrew Fingerhut, partner at RRBB, Somerset, was named an NJBIZ 2023 ICON honoree.

Sax, Parsippany, was ranked the No. 13 largest accounting firm in New Jersey by NJBiz in its 2023 Top Accounting Firms in New Jersey ranking, and firm CEO and managing partner Joseph Damiano was named to its Accounting Power 50 list of the most influential CPAs in the state.

Anson Loi was appointed partner at Prager Metis, New York.

PENNSYLVANIA
