On the move: GSSB names next chair

The Global Sustainability Standards Board named its next chair; Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell donated $10,000 to help victims of the Turkey and Syria earthquakes; RKL hired two directors; and more accounting news.

Reid Gavin was named chief operating officer at Machen McChesney, Auburn.

KENTUCKY

The CPA Firm Management Association, Lexington, hired AMR Management Services as its new management company.

MARYLAND

Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell, Bethesda, announced that the firm and individual team members collectively donated $10,200 and other supplies to help those impacted by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria. 

MICHIGAN

Carl Harahuc was hired as a staff accountant at Lewis & Knopf, Flint.

Carol Adams, professor of accounting at Durham University Business School, was confirmed as the next chair of the Global Sustainability Standards Board. Adams advises the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy on sustainability reporting, and is a member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board's Sustainability Reporting Advisory Panel and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and chairs their Sustainability Panel. Adams begins in the role April 1, succeeding Judy Kuszewski, who has served as GSSB chair since 2017.
